The best friends boyfriend

Got an order for 50 cupcakes last week. and so, heres the end results and recipe! (for those who dont have facebook) ;o!

What do you guys think? nice no?

I made 50 orange cupcakes. no, not the colour orange. like i grated 5 freaking oranges just to get the rind for the flavour! Have you ever tried grating oranges!? or lemon? or any gratable fruit?Ok. it would have be way easier if i actually had a propper rind grater thingi like all the chefs and bakers use on tv. BUT.to get a really good one, cost a bomanationnnnn!

And because im such a kedekut person, i grated 5 oranges with a knife and a cutting board.

wasted. well it wasnt really a waste of time but omg. it took forever.

imagine me, sitting on a chair infront of the dining table holding an orange and trying to cut the skin off without the white bit. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH CONCENTRATION WAS NEEDED!

i was like * frown and squints eyes*

* slowly slice the orange frm the top*

* the knife wasnt sharpe*

* uses more force*

* got the white bit*

* screams: noooo! like its the end of the world*

15 minutes later..

and FINALLY managed to grate.. ONE WHOLE ORANGE -.-

anyways, talking about grating oranges is probably boring to you guys. lol

but i just hav to say this : I started baking at 5pm.. and FINALLY, finished at 4am :) im super.

Well, anyway, the title of the post has nothing to do with the post.. if you havnt already noticed. Its just something.. i JUST might blog about soon. or maybe not ;o

im totally crapping here.

ok.

IF YEW WANTS CUPACAKES! ASK ME!  :)

anyways, heres the recipe for the orange cupacakes. its really delish! i stole the extras and ate then. nyomnyomnyom! it makes 24-27 :)

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 grated orange peel ( if u add more itll be nicer!)
  • 3 large eggs, whites and yolk separated in diff bowls
  • 1/2 juice from an orange. getit? lol  :)

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 180C.Get your cupcake moulds readayyy

2. In a large bowl, with mixer at low speed, mix flour, sugar, baking powder,and salt until combined.Then.. Add butter, milk, vanilla, grated orange peel and egg yolk and beat just until blended. Increase the speed to high and beat for 1-2 minutes more.

3. Then in a biggest bowl ever , beat the egg whites till theyre fluffy and all foamy! Probably take around 2 mins or so.

4. Onces its whites are all noice and fluffay, fold the flour mixture into the whites, SLOWLY. dont over fold em cause then itd be pointless to have beat the egg whites separately.

5.Spoon the batter into the muffin pan cups. Bake 20-25 minutes or until they are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6. When the cupcakes are cool, prepare your choice of frosting.

TADA!

For the frosting, i used buttercream and sugar paste.

 :)
